FoxTrot comic strip by Bill Amend - "Ground Rules" published January 23, 2011 - Jason: Before we engage in snowball combat, we should probably establish the ground rules. Marcus: Good idea. Jason: First, no throwing ice balls. Marcus: Agreed. What about slush balls? Jason: Slush balls are fine. Marcus: What if they freeze into ice balls midflight? Jason: That'd be an act of God. Acts of God are ok. Marcus: So no need for an apology? Jason: Apologies are good form, but optional. Marcus: Should we limit taunts? Jason: Not sure. Taunting is a big part of my game. Marcus: How 'bout we only allow witty taunts? Jason: I can live with that. Marcus: What's your stance on time outs? Jason: I'm thinking we each get one timeout, with unlimited ones for injury. Marcus: Wimp. Jason: Should we set a maximum throwing velocity? Marcus: I'd rather limit momentum. Should we make a chart for various masses? Jason: Gah. I wish snow didn't melt so fast. Marcus: Hmm, maybe we need to set ground rules for our ground rules.
